7 Great Teacher Gift Ideas

This time of year I always start thinking about gift giving for the holidays and what am I going to get the teachers. The old standby gift card and chocolates are always readily available, but sometimes you just want to be different. It’s tough, it’s not like you necessarily know the teacher that well, but your child spends a majority of their day with this person and they deserve a nice thank you.

Everyone Needs an Alice

Alice has quickly become one of my favorite shopping sites and YES, everyone does need an Alice.

What is Alice? Alice is an online marketplace for brand name products you use everyday at Big Box store prices and instant coupons…no clipping required. Oh and they ship for free too. So you can skip adding all those big heavy bulky items to your shopping cart or making special trips to the price club retailers in an effort to save a few dollars and just order it online, from the comfort of your bed if you wish…that’s right, there is an APP for that.

I’ve been using Alice for several months now for things like toilet paper, paper towels, kleenex, dishwasher and laundry detergent, shampoo, toothpaste, etc… And I am in love with, yes in love with, the new iPhone or iTouch app because now I can order anytime, from anyplace. It even has a barcode scanner to scan in items and see if they carry them…but mine does not seem to be working on my iPhone…I’m hoping it’s just an update away from functioning properly.

Alice keeps track of what you order and you can set reminders for re-orders. It even emails you to let you know you are running low and it’s time to re-order. It automatically applies any coupons that might be floating around. And it ships for free and arrives in a pretty blue and black Alice box in 2-3 days.

The boxes are great for the kids to play in or use to clean up the basement and garage too.

It’s Friday and time for another Friday Fave of mine…and yet another item on my “I want it” list. Elemental Memories is a site I discovered last year, not sure where, maybe on Twitter? Possibly? All I know is, the pieces are gorgeous, unique, and mom-made. What else matters?

Elemental Memories takes your precious photos and puts them on baked clay tiles which are hand-pressed using low fire clay. I don’t know what it means, or how it’s done, but they come out looking gorgeous and are so unique. Not to mention super stylish.

Wouldn’t this make a fabulous mother’s day gift…hint hint. Anybody read my blog that is related to me??? I doubt it. Any stranger out there want to send me a necklace?? Yeah, I doubt that too. Of course, a custom photo collage makes a pretty awesome gift too.
